ya so i parked my car on 6th street between 1st and 2nd ave today in nyc and between the hours of 1pm and 5pm someone broke into my car...stole my ipod, my semi broken palm treo phone and a bunch of cds.....they did leave my passport x50 tho which was nice...... another thing tho i checked in my glove box and im pretty sure i remember a trunk lock button being there? can someone please confirm that for me cus its gone lol... i have a 2001....gonna post pics in a few

oh really? cus in my old es300 and my parents new es330 there is one so that when u give ppl the valay key they cant get into the glove and the button in the glove disables the latch to open the trunk so they cant get in.... or else the valay key not opening the trunk would be pointless cus they can jus use the latch

Well, i think the latch handle is a cable anyways, running from the driver's side seat area on the floor, so i don't think there is any such disable device, unlike in the ES's where they are buttons on the dash to the left of the steering column.

wow that really sucks man im sorry to hear.. i live near there and the neighborhood is pretty decent and safe usually... if i have to park on the street in nyc i never leave anything out in the open in the view of windows. not saying you did or not. just sucks that it had to happen.

ya i kno its a really nice area.......the ipod was under the radio area in that little hole and i have tinted windows so i duno if it was visable but it prolly was.... im goin up to lexus tomorrow and see wut they can do
