It's been a while since I last posted...
This is a story of an innocent Camaro SS becoming a monster V8.
A friend of mine; Chuck owns a 2000 Camaro SuperSport, a 320 horsepower @ 5200 rpm with 345 pound/feet @ 4400 rpm, a 5.7L small block V8. I was there the day he bagan modifying the SS about 5~6 years ago. With minor modification of exhaust, cold air intake, differentials and etc., his car went from stock to about 380hp within 2 years. About 4 years ago, he began doing serious work to his vehicle by working with SLP company and from there, the SS gabbled up to approximately 425hp. Not until a year ago, he added loud mouth exhaust along with other major modifications. Pounding in close to 490hp with insane torque.
When the SS cranks, it sets off car alarms. When the SS is revs, it wakes up neighbors down the street. When the SS takes off, the neighbors complains about the vibration in their homes. And when the SS redlines on the road, no cars dared to compete. Even when the SS simply sat at a redlight, no other vehicles dared to try against her. It is utterly the most intimidating vehicle I have ever been in.
Whenever we would go out for lunch in his SuperSport, I made sure the seatbelt works and is tightly strapped to my body. I could hear every shifts and inbtween shifts, the SS has 2 distinct sounds instead of one. One when in gear and one between gears. The torque in that car is indescribable, and the feeling being in that car is the same as when an airplane is in the midst of a run before take off. It's loud, it's intimidating and it's amazing at the same time. With that SS, it doesn't have to prove anything, it doesn't have to show much to other vehicles on the road. With the 2 red/orange pinstripes down the center of the SS, and the loud exhaust.. it's basically the king of the road.

My friend Chuck recently got married and about 2 months ago, him and his wife planned on having a baby and buying their dream house. Planning to have a baby and having a big house means they'll need a truck, a pick up truck with 4 doors. So after a long discussion with the wifey, Chuck decides it's time to let his favorite car in the world go. That's where I come in, I will be buying that SS from him in the near future and what can be better for him to see one of his good friends owning it than some random kid! Below is a similar picture of an SS that is almost identical like his, but rather, picture it in Silver exterior and pinstripe in RED.

The SS is a high 11 second car and the best time was 11.5
I was there when he tore a Mitsubushi Evo from a stop light
I was there when his other buddy's 2004 Mustang Cobra took a huge beating
I was there when a Formula Tran AM WS6 was a blurr in his rear mirror
need I say more?

yeah, the car is done by SLP. It's amazingly fast, I've never sat in a car that fast in my life. I mean, I've never sat in Lambo or Ferarri's before, so that SS is the fastest car I've sat in. But I'm sure the SS can give some exotic cars a good run for their money.

Work's been REALLY BUSY, and I kind of phased out of "car craze", after all, you can only do so much mod on your car before you get tired of it. After all, it's only a car, where gets you point A to point B. I still love my TL and looking forward to get the SS, but right now. I'm focusing my life on something else other than the cars.
Plus, it's winter, not a season I'd be all into driving fast and furious ya know.

This is Chuck's Super Sport at idle. Now if you see this car at a red light, would you even try to race it?

Mike,
I will take you up on that race for shits and giggles :) Chuck's SS has never lost. If your car can beat a 390hp+(at the fly) 2004 Mustang Cobra with slight modification, then you might be able to hang with the SS.

*** The SS is 475hp at the wheel, not fly. Meaning it has about 590hp to the fly. The SS is no joke, perhaps your Corvette is a zo6 (meaning 425hp(2004) or 505hp(2006), it's gonna be hard to beat)

The SS tore up a 2004 Mustang Cobra like it's a honda civic.
