Boosted Is300 Track Day

for anyone interested, there will be a few boosted is300's at the track this coming sunday, november 20th, for the final track day of the season. the "event" will take place at island raceway in northwest nj. everyone should COEM OUT AND SHOW SUPPORT AND RESPECT. and we can have ourselves a mini is300 meet at the same time. those scheduled to attend so far are ISMAN, RAVEN, and possibly MYIS300T. all cars very capable of running into the 10's, so it should be monumental to say the least.

I think Ill be there.. ISMAN and Raven are both def coming.. I have to see them run. As for 10's Im just hoping for 12's lol...I am going down on friday also

Raven might not make it, he's usually busy on the weekends, with 2 kids and a pregnant wife due any day now......but i will try to find out by saturday night and see.....

i posted my results on .net, but here they are again: 2 runs in the 12's, my best was a 12.725 at 116.45mph. i was running about 14psi boost. my 60' was 2.197, which was better than last week, but could be improved. i was very happy with the run - getting into 12's was a nice way to end the season ;)

some info on my setup: SRT Stage 2.5, 396rwhp, valvebody upgrade, stock torque converter, manual torsen LSD swap, full interior (including spare and subwoofer), Toyo T1-S 255/35/18.

thanks to charles, tom, joe (wrx), marc, danny, and everyone else for a fun day at the track.

however, try to hook up the camera to a computer and just import it in windows movie maker....or if a mac, with imovie....

VOB files are mpeg2 format.. I think wmp can play them. Questoin is.. how big are they?

You can use this sw to edit the vob files: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd2avi.cfm, also, use TMPGEnc to convert to avi.

Well I apparently suck at teh 1/4 mile.. I did however get my best time of 13.1 and a trap of 117mph with my best 60' ever of 2.28. I am now taking applications for drivers for next weekend down at atco.. There is a low 12 second run in this car. I am just not yet capable of it... hey can we talk to the officials and see if they will let me run it from a 30 mph roll...seeing how i suk at teh launch..

keep at it Tom, you will get it one day....or ditch that R154 and pony up to a V160...or an Automatic! haha

lol...there is no need to ditch the R514 there isnt any prob with the gearing or the tranny... look at the 12.99 and faster post on .net.. several into the low 12's and 11's on the r154 on similiar hp. Cariza is just one example. The car is fast enough for possibly a 11.80 with the traps I am running i just cant get the launch for the 60' I spool up way fast and lose traction. I am thinking of a dual stage boost controller to limit my boost in first and second gear..

Again its all about the 60'.. for example: GMC2500 turbo diesel.. guy ran 12.6 with a 1.7 60' @ 99mph!!! a 2.1 60' is soso.. remeber every tenth off the bottom = two tenthes off the top. so my 13.1 with my 2.29 60' becomes a 12.72 with a 2.0 60'.

i spoke to mo today, and that's the basic plan over the winter. for now, just having fun with the car.
