View Full Version : Welcome to the motorcycle forum!
So Eric and I talked a bit today and I proposed to have a section for riders. As far as I know, there is Erik, Danny and me. Even though just the 3 of us, I hope we will have more riders and bikes in the future. And with winter approaching, its going to be hard go out and ride, but we can still discuss things here on EM.
And as I was thinking how to make this section of the forum useful, I think I will start off with some links to online merchants (where I brought most of my mods) and of course, post PICTURES of your bike, list of your mods, milage and any other related information.
Welcome and thanks to Eric for creating this section.

i got my liscense not too long ago. now i just need the bike. waiting for the 07' cbr's to drop down in price alittle more, although they are around 1000 bucks less than when they came out
a friend of mine just got the 2007 600rr in white/gray/black. the bike is absolutely beautiful and looks and feels very well made. its got covers everywhere (when you touch the tank, it actually feels plastic because i think there is a tank cover or something like that) everything from the undertail exhaust looks and sounds, to the way the gauge displays and the way the start button feels, its just great.
here are some pictures

My buddy Andy picked up the same bike, white as well. lovin' the white!! If i was getting a 600RR i would get the same color, but I'm happy wit my '05 CBR600RR ;) If you think they will have some leftovers by Feb, get it then...thats usually around the time the new models get released.
btw, dunno what ur riding background is Derrick, ever think of pickin' up a 250cc or 500cc to learn on for like a year?
Good idea on the forum =D
actually i heard about the buying a smaller bike first year thing to just learn on it, but the 636 is my first bike and i am not having a hard time.
i did take msf and got a lot of practice time with my buddies (highly recommend msf). when it comes to riding i think common sense really plays a large part. for example, if u are new and riding with a group, if you fell behind, dont try to catch up and try to show off like the rest. most of my friends have more than 3 years of experience and i know i dont, so i prefer to stay in the slower lanes and let the minivans pass me.
know what you can do and your limits and again, common sense is very important guys!

wow, that new bike john has looks pimp. i might have to borrow it for a photoshoot w/ a model. what you say?
hey eric, thats my friend dave, i dont think u met him before. jon still has the r6.
dave is getting the flushmounts after that, the bike will look a bit sharper. i am sure dave wont mind if u take pictures of his bike with a model.

yeah, thats' been mentioned to me before. last year, on my permit a friend let me drive around his OLD ass gsxr don't even know what it was lol, throttle woudl stick and all that good stuff. i drove it arouand for a little, and wasn't being an idiot. the only experience i do need to gain is certain road conditions being that i only drove around locally and roads were okay with an exception of some monster potholes.
like brandon said about common sense, i find myself to have alot of it, and i definitely know my limits. i always think, whats the point of speeding/weaving in and out of traffic etc etc.. if the end result could most possibly be the end of your life? i know too many people that have gotten into bad accidents, and one guy up the street from me who actually died. most of them were the faults of other drivers though, which is the only thing i'm worried about. i'm gonna get myself the flashiest bike ever and wear one of those orange reflectors just to make myself seen hahaha
let's do it and ride together derrick. wrap ourselves in retro-reflective tapes!!
actually, what i do is (or dont do) i try not to ride at night when its dark. i understand it might be easier for people to see your headlight and etc, but overall, visibility is still bad and most importantly, if you are unfamiliar with the road, its very hard to ride on it at night because you cant really see anything (unless you get HIDs). every little bump, pothole, mid-size rock can lead to something so you def. want to be able to see those.

yeah true, thats what i been told by other bikers. thats why i want to get either a white or red bike, one that would stand out. i saw a blue/white gsx-r last night covered with blue leds that made it look pretty sick. but there is NO way in hell you would miss that thing. it was lit up like a damn christmas tree

i wanted an r6, til i realized my short ass can't even touch the ground with the high rake that bike has. i drove around a friends gsxr750 today, and it isn't that bad. i mean than again, anything is better than the old hoopty i was riding around last year.
