Hey guys hows it goin...i spoke to some of you at the bear Mountain Meet and told you about the new go cart place on route 17 North in Maywood called Velocity 17!! It just opened with a nice track inside and all different simultors and so on...the go carts go close to 60mph and you just drift around turns and get print outs to see whos the real racer haha...but anyway i was thinking we could get a meet going there and hang out Race some go Carts and then go right next door to outback and eat....Im not sure on a Date as of right now its just an idea and if you guys wanna do it..Give me some feed back on what you think...Thanks...(Ben)(Red WRX)

sounds good ben!
I read this review on another forum:
For the Go-karts you pay a membership fee(meh) of $20, with it you get a member card with your picture and barcode that you reload for races, also a helmet sock. Every race is $18.50. So your first time expect to spend about $40. You get 6 race laps and 2 warm up laps. Before you race they give you a breifing in a room basicly telling you what all the flags mean, safety and what not. After that you go back out to the track and get ready. Put on a helmet(motorcycle style with visor) and neck brace. The track is pretty technical, but also has a nice straight with a couple banked turns to get up some speed. There are several nice passing spots in the hair pins but also in a few of the turns. This was the first go-kart track I've gone to where you have to use the brakes. Jamin on the brakes going into a turn you can lock up the rears and slide the car around with the right amount of throttle, too much you'll go spinning(easy way to pass people). Track is a bit bouncy but that adds to the fun, smooth track would be too boring IMO, nothing that throws you around terribly but you do get the feel of actually going fast. Chatting with one of the crew members they said the karts can hit about 60MPH(not bad for electric), however public races they are limited(I'd say the max you get is about 30-35MPH). He said league races will probably start in about a month and they will run the cars 100%.
Depending on the day Juniors can race on the same course(not with adults though) in the same cars just with less power, otherwise they have a smaller course for their cars.(I forgot the price for Jrs)
Also there is a F1 simulator, I didn't do it but from the looks of it if anyone did the Nascar experience at the Palisades center, it looks pretty close to the same thing just with F1 cars. This cost about $9 for a run
They have an F-18 simulator, supposidly the same the Canadian airforce uses to train their piolts. Next time I'm there I'm definatly hitting this one up looks like fun. This was $20
Finally there is a police(or military forgot which) weapon simulator. I didn't see it simply because I didn't want to tempt myself seeing as it cost $50.
The cafe is really nice, gives you a nice view of the track, the owner actually was coming by with pizza samples for the racers waiting in line, I didn't die yet so I think that's a good thing(it was really good TBH).
All in all I found this to be a really fun place, while the prices are a bit steep, I can see them slowly coming down once they break even(the place is huge 100,000 square feet). Right now everything is a bit chaotic but I think in about a week or so when they get everything squared away this place will be really awesome.

Ya they are electric but they go so fast when you are on them its mandatory to keep your eye visor on the helmet cracked because the burnt rubber from the tires fogs up the glass....it is a little expensive the first time to ride but definitly worth it since you go so fast on those little things!!!! lets just figure out a time when everyone can go
