View Full Version : so I see an E55 AMG on a main street in a posh northern NJ town today....and....

he was making a left going the opposite way I wanted to go...so I obviously switched lanes, got into the turning lane and waited for the light to turn green....

go onto a 2 lane road, speed limit 40 MPH...lined up next to him from like a 30 roll, and he gunned it...so did I.....he put a car and a half on me, but I quickly caught up and passed him at about 70 mph as we came up to a red light.....he looked over at me and smiled.....and I nodded and gave him the thumbs up....

light turns green, I'm in the left lane, him in the right....he floors it and quickly jumps on me again....I actually giving it lighter acceleration as I cant use e-shift anymore, and I catch him, still light throttle....and then I floor it, and walk away...

what an awesome feeling, I hit about 17 psi I noticed....not sure what RWHP that is for me now as I'm only street tuned on my new set up, but sure felt strong as hell..

because the stuff that controls it was part of Drive By Wire, which I no longer have with my Q45 Throttle Body....

Ray @ PFS got it to work though on that guy PHIL's car, so I'll try to figuire it out by spring/summer

SL55 AMG is pimp status imo.....I was just checking out the LS460's.....<drool> even the backseats are pimp.

my pops said he raced a guy with a Sl65 in his CL65, those cars are FAST. maybe because they are lighter than the CL?

nothing is more pimp that Derrick's Dad's CL65 AMG :D

but my favorite AMG is the S65 :D

SL65 is lighter but it's hardtop convertible too. SL65 should be faster

Mercedes has tweaked the SLR supercar to produce the 722 Edition. It adds more output, a tailor-made suspension configuration and a "decidedly sporty" interior.

The supercharged 5.5-litre V8, hand-built in the AMG engine shop in Affalterbach, now generates 650bhp compared to the original's 626bhp -- just over five per cent more. Still, it boots you to 62mph in 3.6 seconds, and 125mph is reached in just 10.2 seconds. The extra power gains you under two mph more at a Vmax now up to 211mph.
