Handler needed for ringtones? help?

Hey anybody ever get the message "handler needed for this type of content" when trying to use a ringtone they downloaded on their phone? Ive been trying to find one and no idea what im looking for

never had that problem with mine..and I dont spend any extra $$ on ringtones either, I have a 128 MB card on my verizon motorola V710, and i upload MP3 files directly to the phone, for free....

what type of phone? what service?

its a samsung A920, I have sprint. I can upload the mp3 file. I can play it on the phone. Hell I can even select it as the ringer. But when the phone rings it doesnt play the ringer at all. its just weird.
